Keywords in domain - seo question...

Hi guys I have several domain names all related to my niche and am about to start doing some seo work on my main site. If I just point the DNS settings to my one site will this hurt my serps with google? I know that if I had my site cloned on each domain it would. But I will only have my one site with the domains pointing to it.

Should I place some kind of landing pages on each of the domains that then redirect over to the main site?

Any thoughts would be welcome.

These days you are much better off making sure your domains all resolve to the one place.
Resolving to other domains with landing pages would get marked as External Duplication and you will get penalised for it.

You should consider creating a blog from one of the domains detailing information about your niche and using it to link to products on your site instead.
You will then benefit from Link Backs from an external source which is far better.
