Help Ext HD used between Mac and PC (can't delete now on PC)

Mac at work and PC at home.

I normally take things back on the Ext HD, cut and paste onto my PC, however, last night I was notable to cut, nor was I abel to delete the files I had copied (yes will let me copy).

This was a massive pain as the HD was full and I needed to elite space to bring a large file back, but not able.

I can still delete anything on this HD at work on the Mac.

    What, how, when, where….

I am really confused and incredibly frustrated.

Our IT guy is bemused by this.

My only next step would be to remove all data and reformat, something i really don't want to be messing about with.

Anyone got information on how I might stop being a numpty and move froward to contrail on both systems?

    Cheers…..Q

Is it do do with the disk permissions settings from the mac? Try running a disk permissions fixing tool from the mac, eg onyx.

Or Run Repair Permissions from the Utilities >Disk Utilities folder on your Mac.

What format is the drive in? Are you using any special software to read/write on the mac at all?

Both the Verify and Repair Permissions are greyed out.

I do not have Onyx, this is a work Mac and no permissions to install anything else. Need to stick with what the Mac offers.

Default Ext HD used between Mac and PC (can't delete now on PC)

Can you access the 'disk utility' function via 'utilities' in 'applications'? Then select 'first aid'
Or are these options greyed out?
