cant find someone to sign passports..

ive got my holiday book to euro disney, have everything booked down to ferrys and hotels etc etc, cant find anyone to bloody countersign my kids passports, need a 7 year olds renewal and my 3 year olds first passport,

ive exhausted the list of people, and have no one!
friends i know have not got a passport, and you need to put a number down.

i really cant beleive the excuses im getting, headmaster reckons hes got no passport, doctors no longer do it, dentist dont do it, all because of this personal information the passport people require. i dont blame them i wouldnt want to give my passport number out...

any suggestions, as im out of them and the mrs is looking pretty mad at me....

Put it back on her. Teacher is a good one. When I was a civil servant I used to do loads.

the recepionsit we go through to at the kids school is a right awful cnut! shes horrible, so i will get the same bolloks if i ring her back, since when does a headmaster not have a passport! bloody money there on!

ive even rang the passport office and there stumped as they cant beleive the excuses im being given!
tried health visitor and they said cant due to the data protection act, cant give out there information blah blah blah

going to try my old driving instructor who orignally signed my 7 year olds passport in 2005.

Are you sure you're reading it right?
Our headteacher signed ours and she doesn't have a passport, though from the application she first said she couldn't do it and she doesn't have a number but I'm certain that's not a criteria, though it is confusing.

Getting your photographs certified

The person who countersigns your application form at section 10 (your ‘countersignatory’) should also certify one (not both) of the photographs. They do this by writing on the back:

• ‘I certify that this is a true likeness of [Mr, Mrs, Miss, Ms or other title followed by your full name]’

They must then sign and date the statement. It is not enough just to sign and date the photograph.
If the application is for someone under 16 (including babies)

The countersignatory must:

• sign the application form at section 10 to confirm that they have known the adult who signed section 9 for at least two years
• certify one of the photographs as described above, stating the child’s full name

The application form asks the countersignatory to enter their current British passport number (Irish passport numbers are also acceptable). This is so the Identity and Passport Service (IPS) can check their identity.

tried the whole lot, its like we live a sheltered life, we dont know anyone, even local corner shop cant do it as they dont know us.

im going to try some bird in the post office who knows me, and if no joy try my old driving instructor, fucker had enough money of me so hopefully he'll do it!

I remember it used to be tricky, but with the regulations relaxed so much now, you should be able to find some one to sign it.
Pharmacist, pub landlord, your boss, or any teacher.
Failing that send it to me :-)

all sorted cheers guys! what a releif, we had our old drivng instructor do it, he has known my wife for 19 years as a neighbour, bloody post office then trying to milk me even more, wanting £7 to check it and then a further £6 to send it, bolloks to that ive just spent enough, my gran checked it as shes retired post office clerk, and im quite happy sending it 1st class post, if someone wants to use me for identiy fraud, go ahead lol, you wont get far as im written off to any money/financial services, wont get a borrowed penny from my name :OD

I had my dentist do mine, as the Doctor wanted £20 and had a 7-day wait.

Dentist did it for free, while I had a check up, and dangled her cleavage in my face while I waited, winner!

I dont think they're as strict as before. I've done loads and i'm a lowly teaching assistant.

I know this sounds dumb, but I got my hairdresser to do it. My brother got the local shop keeper to do his.
Both which worked fine x
