I had a shoot down in London last week with a great model called Cassandra. Some of you may remember her from this carlsberg advert from a few years ago.



I've got a tonne of images to get through, but this one I'm totally not sure if I prefer mono or colour

I agree no. 2, seems to jump out from the wallpeper.

The 3rd one makes her skin tone look a bit wierd

Damn, I was hoping everyone would prefer the black & white one, that's the one that's calling to me atm, guess it's one of those marmite things, can't please everyone

Clearly the colour is the winner then, guess that means more colour shots from this shoot instead of black & white coming soon

Black and white do tend to look great with this kind if subject matter but I am also in the colour camp with this shot .. How much does a shoot like this cost ?

How much does a shoot like this cost ?

It varies massively tbh, if you've got all the studio setup at home it can be free, you just get a model who'll work TF* (Time for CD/Print, where instead of payment you send them copies of the images), or even if you've got a strong enough port, get a model to pay you for it.

Otherwise, if you're paying models, that can vary massively too, expect to pay at least about £100 for a 3-4 hour shoot for the model, then about the same again for a studio, but again there's a huge difference and you need to pick your models carefully. Sites like www.purestorm.com and www.modelmayhem.com should be your first port of call.

How much did she cost for this shoot then or was this just for copies of the pics as thats a bonus if so (Note to mods could of put a cheap gag with mispelling bonus but hope you notice the self-restraint I had ;-)

Have a look on net model forum as well as there is often castings with cost per hour put up there. Also you hear about modelling days when you can just book an hour slot normally between 45 to 65 quid in a studio with lights at hand to use.
Or maybe try some where like this to keep it simple(I've never used it but it's the only place I know off like that)

Without a doubt no.2. Altho you can never go wrong with b&w, colour does make this photo stand out alot more. No.3 i agree with earlier post, the skin tone doesnt stand out with the background too well imo.

Well I prefer the black and white version. It has pop and zing and the model looks a little more sultry.
