Forget splitters, get the ladder out.Put an "f" connector on both ends of cable.
One screws onto lnb, other on receiver. Done.

Use some waterproofing tape on dish connection.

    Afternoon,
After running another feed from the lmb bought satellite cable on eBay it's 70ohm tried into box nothing.
i tried the sky cabling fine. So elimination. First put the working signal into the cable and still no joy? I tried the sky into a different lmb and then I also got nothing.
quick question is 70ohm cable ok to use?
gutted took me over an hour to do any suggestions welcomed
    thanks

Is there a different way than stripping the cable to expose the cable and screwing the f connector on

I'd hazzard a guess that the copper in the new cable from Ebay has snapped somewhere.

I've had this happen a few times when I've used cheapie stuff and pulled on the cable.

as long as you bent back the copper sheath, before screwing on the connector.
i.e the screw part of the connector must touch the braid.

To test the cable, unplug the cable at both ends and bang a multimeter set to continuity accross the centre core and the screen...you should get infinity, ie no continuity. Then join the screen and the centre core together at one end, and do the same test with your meter at the other end, you should now get 0 ohms, ie a short.
Next test is to put the sky cables onto the lnb outputs you have been using, see if the sky box still gets its signal.
