It depends, usually you can see what they are doing but there is an option in teamviewer to disable remote input and then show black screen. You should only ever grant permission to someone that you trust.

Did you call McAfee to ask them to do this? There are a lot of scam calls going round pretending to be legitimate companys. If you can't access the net then they can't get into your machine...

Have you tried downloading the McAfee removal tool on another machine and running that? Or removing McAfee using the built in uninstaller? Or running system restore?

But if you have no net access how can he connect? Unless I am missing something. If you want I can take a shot at helping.

If you press the windows key and R it will open a run box, type cmd and press enter, when the black window opens type ping www.google.com and press enter. This will test for an internet connection, if you receive 4 replies then you have net access. If you then open your web browser and can't access the net let me know and I will run through something else.

    Thanks to evilsatan

i was just about the ask the same question. Usually uninstalling the network drivers can fix the problem if removal tools are not working, you could also try resetting winsock

press windows key and R then type CMD and then enter NETSH WINSOCK RESET

Hate Mcafee with a passion, Eset all the way

    Thanks to pctuner1984

Eset if you are paying, security essentials if you want free AV is the advice I give anyone.

Also check your proxy settings, Control Panel, Network, Internet Options, Connections, LAN Settings, Tick Auto settings, Untick use a proxy server.
