    Film Star Wars: Episode 7

    WATCH MARK HAMILL’S INITIAL REACTION…FROM 1983!

‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘ is quickly becoming the go-to topic of speculation for the ‘Star Wars’-speaking world. There are only a few things rumored for the next chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ saga, but one thing is certain: Mark Hamill and Carrie Fischer have known about plans for a ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′-led trilogy for some time now!

The real-life Luke Skywalker was very forthcoming about that information when he revealed a secret meeting that went down last August with Fischer and George Lucas. But it turns out the actor was pressed about a potential ‘Star Wars’ continuation way back when he was promoting the final movie in the original trilogy, ‘Return of the Jedi.’

Hamill’s reaction to the ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′ news was, “What? Are you nuts?!” Now that a 1983 video interview has surfaced of the ‘Return of the Jedi’ star, thanks to The Playlist, this reaction seems to stick with his initial statements.

“It was meant to follow a three-act play,” said Hamill, describing the trilogy. “In Act I, you introduce the characters and the environment. In Act II, you develop the problems and usually it has tragic overtones. And then Act III is the big finish… When you see the ending, you’ll see why [Return of the Jedi] has to be the last one, period.”

Check out the interview between Hamill and an ’80s afro-sporting Maria Shriver below! What do you think about ‘Star Wars: Episode 7′? Are you excited, or do you agree with Hamill? Sound off in the comments.
