The speed doubling has still not happened here, it has been put of several times already and is now supposedly being don by the end of December. . . .yeah right.
when i log into my account, it says my speed has doubled. But when I check using speedtest.net, it shows it hasnt. rebooted modem etc.
TAR seems to be a decent bloke!
Mines went ahead on schedule... was on 30MB and get download rates of about 7.0 MB/s consistently.
mine is meant to have gone up from 10mb to 30mb, on 10mb i was getting consistently 1.17mb when it was hammering the download, since it has doubled or trebled in this case my speed has only gone up to 1.4mb which doesnt sound right to me at all, will chase them up about this
I'm using the super hub, and what a crock of shit it is too. Constantly dropping out!!

Same thing here Blaggard, been delayed, now says end of December on the site. I thought they were upgrading yesterday as VM was down for almost 24 hours but nope, still the same speed.
This some kinda con? On their site it has 30mb as a lower tier... Wouldn't expect such a reputable ISP to be dishonest to their customers
FUCK Virgin.
According to this I'm allowed to d/l 10GB between 10AM & 3PM.
Stopped a download when I saw it approaching 9GB but checked and then saw I was already throttled anyway..
No way have I used 1GB of surfing/overheads today. I only came to the PC to download this file.
I've had all this bullshit before with them, being measured & throttled out of hours. Last time even they admitted I was throttled but hadn't hit the threshold, then went back on it and said there was a network outage. Bunch of lying, conning bastards they are.
Been with them for so many years and always stood up for them but this service and the Superslug just makes me want to do as Blaggard and fuck the lot of it off. I can't even get a decent signal in the upstairs bedrooms directly above the room where the fucking hub is sat.
Usually other way around. i.e. lesser speeds over wi-fi than wired.
Might be worth looking at your ethernet configuration. It's obvious you *can* get full speeds so either a faulty port on the hub or a mis-configured ethernet card/damaged cable? It doesn't make sense that you can get better speed over wi-fi unless there's a hardware problem in the mix. Try a different port on the hub/different cable/check ethernet card configuration/drivers.
Here's the thread on the VM Forum and latest responses
