Are they WebDL's from iTunes?
Most of the stuff available now is H.264/MPEG-4 due to the improved quality/size ratio. Was annoying at first for me because they wouldn't play in a standalone DVD player. I watch most on my PC anyway but if you want to convert them to XviD the best program I have used is WinFF available here. (">

I have only tried 2 .mp4 files so far on our TV and they were the first two episodes of him and her and they seemed to skip a few frames now and then, the TV plays xvid and mkv's fine so I will have to try some other programs and see if it was just the ripper/uploader or whether it's the TV

Scene standards changed a while back.

Not only is there a Wiki page for 'Warez' (the old skool definition), there is a whole set of standards the Release Groups have to adhere to in order to stop their releases from being 'Nuked'.
The particular rule you've pointed out here is documented here - http://scenenotice.org/details.php?id=2081
DivX & XviD is old hat now in favour of the more superior MP4 and MKV formats, which produce better quality, better sound at a smaller filesize.
The scene rules are changing all the time due to advancements in file formats.
Sickbeard wont discriminate against whether it is a WebDL, TV Rip or DVD Rip. It'll just download what it finds on Usenet as the best possible quality.
Sickbeard keeps up with scene rules.
