HP laptop G6010EM Drivers

I've offered to sort my Dads old laptop out which is a Hewlet Packard G6010EM, It's got Vista on it at the mo which i think is awfull so i had planned to put Xp on it for him.
I thought i would have a look for the drivers before i made a start but can't find anything on the HP support site, does anyone know where i should be looking to get the drivers?
I've done one or two laptops over the years for friends and family and usually its just a matter of logging on to the support site of that particular laptop and downloading the drivers to a usb stick, oh and one that i had to slipstream xp so that the hdd could be detected, what a mare that was


Anyone advise me where to start?

Step backwards.

Vista is crap. XP is unsupported.
Windows 7 is the way forward.

What RAM has he got in it? Anything 1GB or above will work fine for normal use on Windows 7.

Are you sure it's a G6010EM and not a G60-100EM.

The HP G5000 series.



Although not listed as being Windows 7 compatible, it should upgrade fine.

XP Drivers are all there if you chose to go down that route.

Will need to investigate the GPU Drivers for Windows 7, other than that, everything else should be golden.
