3gs 16gb question / problem

Hello everyone,

I've just got myself a second hand 3gs and it doesn't have an sms icon so I can't send text messages.

I've jailbroken the unit with redsnow and it's on 5.0.1 (9A405)

I wanted to do a factory re-install keeping 5.0.1 but itunes will not allow me to do it. (comes up with various errors relating to it being jailbroken)

I have downloaded the 5.0.1 .ipsw so how do I get the phone back to factory like settings?

In Cydia there should be a bit at the top which tells you which SHSH blobs are saved, can you post all the listed versions in here.

SHSH: 3.13, 4.0, 4.0.1, 4.1, 4.2.1r1, 4.3.3, 4.3.5, 5.0.1, 5.1, 5.1.1, 6.0.1

I have no idea what any of that means.

Those numbers are the iOS blobs stored on Sauriks server, meanings it's jb'd on all iterations of ios.

At the bottom of that into page it tells you your device and what it's on.

ok I see it at the bottom.

So what do I have to do now. I'm missing a core part of the phone (can't send sms).

The reason why I want to stay on 5.0.1 is because I have downloaded a sbs addon to allow me to control volume (it's missing the volume rocker on the side)

If you search for SMS , by swiping the home screen right , does it find it ?

well it was working. it no longer pop's up when I select messaging.

Have you restored through redsn0w to stock 5.0.1?

yep went back to stock. messages work (as in the txt message part came up) but i couldn't send or receive messages. Now Meessages no longer works, it can make phone calls, and surf the net but that is all.
