ooooo you got a link for the tutorial?
It's fairly easy.
If you are not running a web server download XAMPP from Apachefriends.org
Here : http://www.apachefriends.org/downloa...-installer.exe
Install that somewhere. Browse to your local machine using http://localhost and use phpMyAdmin (Link is at the bottom left of the page that loads). Create a database called newznab using that tool
Download newznab from http://www.newznab.com/newznab-0.2.3.zip
Extract newznab to the htdocs directory in xampp (Default is c:\xampp\htdocs)
Browse to http://localhost/www/install if it's on your local machine and follow the steps (Fill in your usenet provider etc)
Download this file : https://raw.github.com/kop1/newznab/...atestregex.sql to X:\xampp\mysql\bin (replace X with the drive your xampp is install to)
Now you need to run a mysql command from the command prompt. (You need to be in X:\xampp\mysql\bin - replace X with the drive your xampp is installed to) then type the following
mysql -u root -p newznab < latestregex.sql
This imports all the regular expressions to do the matching of releases.
Now browse to http://localhost and there are some more instructions. Should be easy from there but if you get stuck post here or PM me. I'm off out in 5 but I'll try and reply as quick as possible.

I'm very interested in creating my own indexing site. Looks like fun, I can customise it how I want and maybe look at scaling it down for my mobile. Its linking it with sites that have covers which will be the interesting bit.
New PSU coming for my server at the weekend so this sounds a project whilst I'm off over Chrimbo!

Oddly enough I thought of that as I was typing I liked their site so to be able to lay my hands on the framework and make a few tweaks would be beautiful. It would take a bit of time but it would be a good project. I was thinking recently of trying to find some other users for my server and this might just be it!

Just follow my (brief) guide and you will be up and running in no time. CPU sits at about 20 - 30% whilst doing it's processing with newznab and I'm running an old 2ghz Intel box with 2 gb of RAM. That server is also my PLEX server, email server and does SABNZBd, CouchPotato and SickBeard. Transcoding HD movies at the same time and the PC doesn't even break a sweat.

What kind of bandwidth does it use though EvilBoB?

It will use as much as available. I was running it yesterday whilst my son was playing on the XBox and I was working remotely over a VPN and didn't notice any degradation in performance. I only have a 10mbps DSL at home right now. The more bandwidth it has the faster it will process stuff but it's only really pulling headers anyway so not a huge overhead. The updates don't have to be continuous - there is a batch file with a sleep function between runs or you can schedule the two jobs it needs to do if you want at certain points during the day or night.

You need to keep your options open. I signed up to 5 NZB indexing sites, and would have signed up to more if I was aware of them. They all were indexing differently, so I had more sources to get more media. Make hay when the sun is shining, so to speak.
