Default Mounted truecrypt container forgets share settings when dismounted

Hopefully someone here can help, I'd have thought this was a fairly normal setup but I can't find any information about it online.

    Setup:
    Server with truecrypt installed
Container file to store sensitive data in encrypted form
Container file set to auto-mount, when the server gets to desktop truecrypt requests mount password
Password is entered and container is mounted as a local drive

I need to share the mounted container across a network, I can configure this sharing and it will work but if the server reboots and the container is mounted again it forgets all sharing settings so it has to be configured again. I have tried sharing both the drive letter and a subfolder, both forget shared settings.

Any ideas on how to combat this? A script might do the job but that would have to be ran manually after entering the truecrypt password.

    Cheers

Default Re: Mounted truecrypt container forgets share settings when dismounted

I had read this but when I re-read it I noticed the word system. Usually when encrypting a machine I use system encryption whereby the user enters a password pre-boot but in this case that was not possible as Teamviewer would not have loaded and it makes no sense to have a keyboard, mouse and monitor connected to this server. It seems that you cannot have shares restored unless the container is a system favourite and that requires system encryption.

If anyone has any ideas on how to get around this it would be appreciated. If Truecrypt allowed the autorun of a script after the password was entered I could have done it that way. Trying to make it simple for the client but still keeping all the vital data encrypted until the password is entered.
