got it mate, but that one was one i tried fails on both astraweb and eweka

you must have got it very quick, did you actually get the file downloaded ?

edit checked with sabnzbd and newsleecher in logs on newsleechers shows dmca take down and it will show downloading on sabnzbd but you see the file will incomplete and wrong size and contains an admin folder, this happens on all the dcma ones i have found so far.

I didn't let it download mate no as didn't want to grab 13gb in the daytime cos of capping, but I've just put it back on now.

Its showing no signs of being DMCA for me though, coming down at 10mb/s and all seems OK - there are usually signs of DMCA stuff with regards to the dl speed etc.

3mins left on it so will post back when its finished.

All the files are there but they aren't complete and no pars in the archive, so I don't think its DMCA as opposed to a bad upload, but yeah it doesn't work.

DMCA stuff for me dls at a few k a sec and has done 1gb+ in a few seconds as it just isn't there anymore.

Weird cos like I say I got all the rars but most were damaged/incomplete...

I've just grabbed another one and its pulled down fine, playing in VLC now though its a 3CD xvid not HD (just saw BDRip and tried it)
I can't be arsed testing anymore as I'm gonna get capped soon but if you want I can send u over a load of nzbs to try?

I still believe with a bit of patience you can find what you want.

So it isn't just me, as I suspected this whole DMCA thing as buggered up the Newgroups? I wish I hadn't bother re-subscribing (I know for 0 day films / tv shows it's going to be fine, but for a 13 year old lad who wants stuff randomly that will have been out any length of time, it's next to useless).

but been testing usenet providers using more recent nzb files up to 72 hours to test the automatic takedown script theory that Rap mentioned

Rikman dmca stuff Is often just broken - so theres not quite enough to fix it. It's not always completely missing

I noticed a lot of stuff gets reposted with modified file names - and doesnt / didn't ! show up on indexing sites . If you grab all the headers on a group you will often find stuff .

It's really dire (and sad) what has happened to the Newsgroups. We just decided to watch a Movie, we aint' seen the Dark Knight Rises so that was our choice. Trying to find a 1080 or 720 version that hasn't been took down worn me down in the end and I gave up. These really useless now.

If you don't mind an SD xvid there is one working as I grabbed it earlier when testing, but I tried 5-6 HD ones and all were gone or damaged and not enough pars to fix.

Hi m8,

I have an SD version (and there is a 1080 version on XBMC, though it is a slow connection). It was more a case of trying out the Newsgroups further, and obviously I'm not impressed (I am not new to them, I was a daily user with the original News Agent Reader on Windows in the region of 18 years ago).

I am beginning to get on my own nerves with my moaning, so I'm just going to accept that they ain't what I was expecting/used to be, and stop moaning about them

LOL, can't say fairer than that mate, and its been a good run with usenet - it was only a matter of time before all the forum-like nzb index sites brought the p2p attention over to newsgroups.

Its gonna go underground again I think, at least for a while.
