Help HELP! MSI U135 netbook wont connect to wireless network

Help - i have a netbook i'm looking at for a friend, it basically was loaded with windows 7 starter. It connects fine to the net via ethernet however it wont actually connect to a wireless network. The wireless networks are picked up along with loads of neighbours ones too yet it will not connect. It gives the error 'windows was unable to connect to 'wireless network name'

I started at a mates and had no luck came to mine and it immediately allowed me to connect to my wireless BUT it then appeared to disconnect and since then gives the above error..

    I have tried:

    change network security
removing security completely and trying - same error
    Reinstalling win 7
removing all devices and resintalling drivers
completing rolling back drivers and updating them again
changing a million and one settings after google showed loads of people with similar issues
finally it appeared to be win 7 (so i thought) blocking the connection so decided to start again and installed a netbook version of windows xp

The problem is still the same and even though the wireless points can be seen it just wont connect.

    Any ideas???

Default HELP! MSI U135 netbook wont connect to wireless network

Seems like you've checked most things. Can you check the network card in the laptop? Usually they make them fairly accessible. Two wires press onto it and they then are usually routed around the display. Could be a lose connection on the card or re-seat the card.

had something similar happen recently.Turned out to be a ropey internal card. Have you tried a USB wifi adapter?

Default HELP! MSI U135 netbook wont connect to wireless network

Cheers think it might be the card to be honest... The other issue is now I can't boot windows at all and recovery don't work...

I have removed hard drive, and put in an enclosure... what would be the best way to reload the original win 7 starter with msi add ons?

Suppose it would be the cd and reload from that? Only issue is I only have macs would that matter?

Thanks all - well i havent sorted the wifi access issue (but have ordered the replacement card and cables) i have however after many many hours loaded back on windows (xp not win 7 this time) I dont know what went wrong but it woldnt boot an install for windows in the end i removed hard drive formatted and erased all partitions and then reinstalled and loaded via ms dos ubunutu and then this allowed me access to partition the drive again and then finally boot to ms dos and then via multiibooter (wicked tool) loaded a xp iso and this installed... only 2 days and about 15 hours!!!!

    Thanks for the replies
