    Default Printing photography on Canvas

    Hi, all.

Just wondering if anyone recomends any decent software, ideally somthing that is very easy to set up and use for printing some of my photos on canvas.

Ive got hold a printer, and some canvas sheets, as well as inks and simple printing is ok.

What i am after is an application that i could enter page size, wrap margins in etc....

    thanks in advance.

What printer are you using mate?

We use Photoshop to set up the image size, wraps etc.

We print through Onyx Productionhouse rip but thats for the wide format printers, as long as you have a windows driver you should be able to do everything through Photoshop.

    Thanks to neilb

I use Photoshop now but did use Microsoft publisher at first as it was easy to set up. In Photoshop just create new file the same size as the canvas sheets and make guides where the front face and sides are then save it. Each time you want a picture just open that file and drag your picture onto it, this way you will see where the edges overlap and what will be showing on the front of the canvas. Remember to put you printer settings in too before saving. Although mine will be different sizes I can send you an example if you want to give you an idea of what I do.

That would be great, will i just be able to adjust margin sizes of yours?

What about wrap arounds? ive read that some are shadows, and other are just of the image?

I'll look tomorrow at the file size and post one here if its small enough, if not I'll email if you prefer. You'll know about the wrap around when you see it. You could adjust mine but it would be easier to make your own due to canvas size and stretcher bar thickness.

Those wunderbars look okay but for one 20x20 canvas its about £20 while a pack of 30 standard bars is around £20. A saving of about £17 each canvas!!!.

Once you've got your picture on the template in photoshop, highlight the layer with the picture (usually its is already if it was the last layer you used)
Click the small fx button at the bottom of the layers window and select 'drop shadow'. Mess with the settings for the effect you want and you will probably want 'use global light' ticked.
