Thunderbolt to HDMI

Hello all, quick bit of advice if possible.. I have recently bought a shiny new Macbook Pro (pre retina) and I want to be able to stream downloaded films from my MAC to the TV... What is the best lead to buy? I presume some sort of Thunderbolt to HDMI lead? Will this also carry the audio?

I know it does pictures for sure, work bought a 3rd Party one from Maplin.

However... Do you not have HDMI out on the Retina's ??? I am certain you do. If not then you have not been sold a Retina?

Apologies, you did say 'Pre Retina' !! My bad!

Again, I know the dongles work fine but not sure for sound as we use them on Projectors. I would imagine they do.
Alternatively if you have an Apple TV you could Airplay Mirror to the Apple TV.

Thanks for that but I should of mentioned it is a macbook pro running Lion... that lead says audio may not work, thanks anyway

yes it outputs sound. mine goes via pass through on my pioneer amp and I get the sound and video. I did not give apple all that money for one though when they are about 5 quid from just about anywhere else!!
