I want my desktop pc monitor to also work with my laptop

I want my desktop pc monitor to also work with my laptop, is there an easier way of switching between desktop pc and laptop for the one monitor to be used for both?

I just dont to keep pulling out the cable from the pc to the laptop all the time, wanted to see if there is an easier way like a switch or something

Yeh you can get a switch just eBay VGA switch . About a fiver , but you will need 3 VGA leads .

Have a look for a cheap KVM? Just plug the laptop in and press the button on the KVM and you can use the mouse and keyboard and monitor from your PC and quickly swap between the two.

Yeap i have a belkin one at work for testing pcs , fed up crawling under desks . U get a cool button you can smack tk switch between em . Works a treat .

KVM all the way as Mod says perfect for pc repair as etc as saves fiddling with cables all the time ;-)

Check the monitor inputs. If it has both VGA and DVI then connect one to the PC and the other to the laptop.

There should be an option to switch between analogue and digital outputs on the actual monitor.

This saves on the cost on a KVM.

If it only has one input, you're fucked
