Undertaker where abouts? I'm on pleasingtons exchange :-(
They have been doing them round me for a couple of months but says June on the pdf file.
Joe what exchange are you on I suspect Blackburn
New customers now also get the first six months free, offering a big saving at the entry point for unlimited BT broadband.
Shit like this really boils my piss. If it was six months 'free' on a twelve month contract then fine. But the day's of twelve months seem to be vanishing to be replaced with eighteen months / two year set-ups.
I signed up yesterday BT Infinity 2, 18 month contract - no 6 months free, just the first 3 months at £20 instead of £26 - according the BT website the free 6 months is only available on the cheaper packages
I'm a new customer to BT broadband (but not to BT as my landline has always been with them)

Blackburn exchange.... New cabinet just on corner of where Pringle street meets Lincoln road
130 metres away from cabinet... Happy days soon
dont hold ya breath mate i have had a shiny fibre cab at the end of my road since September and its still not active
we could almost be neighbours but our exchange serves 640 residential premises, but the adsl and max dates are the same.
no llu and no fibre and no plans for our exchange to be enabled.
the only slight glimmer of hope is the scottish government are leaning on providers to have next gen broadband available to the whole of scotland by 2020 with the majority connected by 2015. (but who trusts politicians though)
If at first you don't succeed, then sky-diving's not for you.

Got Infinity 2 installed yesterday, Quoted 54 Mb upload, and 18 down - actual speed is 43 down and 8 up - quite a big difference - installer (was about 16 years old) made a right mess of drilling a hole through one of internal walls - didn't put a dust sheet or anything down, didn't ask for a hoover (or bring his own) just left a fecking mess and expected me to clean it up He also used 4 faceplates before he got a working one and kept whining about how high a failure rate the faceplates had got, - hardly a great advert for a new flagship product.
Anyway he said the line speed will fluctuate for up to 10 days but will almost certainly settle comewhere close to what I've got now.
Well there is a date for my exchange now 2015 haha :-(

Way back in the distant past when I worked for BT that was almost a hanging offence.. we always cleaned up, used a detector on walls before we drilled and never whinged about quality of what we were installing.. I'm afraid the blame does lie with BT though because they employ Openreach "engineeers" (that word may not actually be applicable to these guys) and give them hardly any training.
All in all your experience should be related back to BT even if, as is likely, nothing will be done to improve their installers practices.
I hope it does settle closer to the suggested speeds

Do you guys have anything like this in your area ?

I've just seen it might be available to me so I might apply for it as there's no Infinity even on my horizon.
