it wouldnt let me play the games until i had installed them which annoyed me, never connected the PS3 to the net for any updates
the PS3 was given to me a couple of years ago (brand new and unopened) but i didnt like the pad mainly and when I had to keep installing the games i just gave up, i only get a couple of hours a week of gaming so just ended up sticking with my 360
p.s. this is not an anti sony/ps3 rant i just didnt like the system when i tried it (which i admit wasnt for long)
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
I wasn't impressed, but thats me. Share button.. meh.
I would genuinely be more excited if Sony announced they were going to make some new PsOne games, or Nintendo some new SNES games. Gamers like me aren't simply loyal to a brand, they are loyal to specific consoles and don't like the thought of seeing them die. These big companies think "virtual console" is the answer to satify retro gamers but its not. In the words of Lenny from the Simpsons, "Why does the oldies station keep playing the same songs? How about some new oldies, geniouses?".
SNES games today could be better than they were in the 90's taking advantage of more, cheaper, storage and perhaps more powerful enhancement chips. e.g. just look at the MSU1 chip.

Yes its a virtual chip, but it does work on real hardware such as the SD2SNES cart, allowing FMV and CD quality audio.
OK, I know I'm dreaming. These companies will never make new games for old systems.
Anyway, search Youtube for MSU1 and you will see some cool stuff.

SSD hard drive would have been nice but I guess if you have that much RAM doesn't too much matter.
I've hardly used my ps3 (had one not long after launch ) and have been very happy with my Xbox - slicker updates / better performance on most cross platform stuff / Better service on live. I'd given up on Sony but it really looks like a console that's been designed with a great deal of developer input - by all accounts the vita is brilliant to develop for - unlike the ps3 . And it's more powerful than expected . I reckon a 300 ish price point - it's much more "off the shelf than the previous console and manufacturing costs will be much lower despite the generous ram . I'm interested - just needs games - not inspired by last nights titles apart from watch dogs & destiny

AD (21st February 2013), Armoured Hawk (21st February 2013), Bald Bouncer (21st February 2013), Brydo666 (21st February 2013), bulletproof (21st February 2013), eblaster101 (21st February 2013), Fear345 (21st February 2013), Raptor (22nd February 2013), rIKmAN (22nd February 2013)
Speculation on price is $599, not really sure what to make of the launch or really non launch as there was no price, no release date and no console, most of the games seemed to be for both ps3 and ps4 plus other consoles so didn't smack of developers being right behind it or at least making sure they still had a cash cow.
Killzone demo please, crowded area, explosion sweeping people off there feet, enemy soldiers as your vision is blurred and you seem injured and as you are about to be finished off you take out the enemy soldier, first time I have seen that TODAY.
I will reserve judgment
The console specs are as per the numerous leaks, however the 8gb gddr5 is a huge surprise - didn't thnk they could fit in all 16 chips to make 8gb. It's going to be expensive but spec wise no one should be disappointed.
I worried that kinetic is changing Microsofts focus and thus Durango will be compromised because of it, given early specs leaks and the use of cheaper lower bandwidth I think they will find it harder to please the core gamer.
Well if they make the same mistake as last time and launch at 425 they are fucked I think . Big rumour before event was 300 quid . They were never gonna play all their cards last night and the console itself its just a box at the end of the day so I can wait for that.
Sony have a history of hyping up specs and then letting them disappear when the final model is released.(Remember twin HDMI / Dual ethernet on the ps3?)
I'll be very surprised if the final console has that that much ddr
They are trying to correct the ills of the past, the machine is easy to develop for, and comes with a headset this time - no one talking on pen was my pet hate as to why I never used it. I'll pick one up at some point next year - new Xbox will be a launch day must for me.
ill stick with my ps one

Shopto have it up for pre-order at £399.85. Says original price should be £449.99 but save 11%.

Pure guesswork from shop to - no way they have pricing details . Lots of places take a stab at price before launch

Not excited by this at all, I don't care how many terraflops it pushes, or how much RAM it has - just show me some of the shit hot AAA games that are coming out on it, if there are none then specs are irrelevant.
Glad I watched the abridged version of the presentation lol
