    Hardware Windows 8 RT Tablet

Just got one of the Win 8 Surface RT tablets from work and after a few days I can only say that the hardware is lovely, very solid and a good balanced weight compared to something like the New iPad.

The software however leaves a lot to be desired, truly awful. Why the hell give you the option of a Desktop when you can't install anything but stuff off the MS App store.

As I say the hardware is superb and the touch cover keyboard is very responsive. If they don't release updates that sort the problems out with the software then Redmond have serious problems to deal with.

So even more reason to leave out the Desktop mode on the ARM based models.
Still think this Windows 8 is likely to be the downfall of MS. Ubuntu touch is where it's at.

The whole Metro v desktop thing is very confusing, even on Windows 8.

I'll be swapping out the RT unit for the Pro for the very least reason to get it onto AD.

I'd be happy with Win8 if they didn't try to force this god-awful Metro interface onto you.

Thank god for Classic Shell on my Win8 PC is all I can say.

Don't know how far this hack got but it may be worth a fiddle
