It's pretty straightforward if you take your time, will take an hour or more on your first go. Almost every screw is a different size and you have to gut the phone to get to the front panel.
ifixit.com has guides

Not the screen but did replace the vibration motor in my 4s recently.
I ordered the part and some screws/tools(with screen removal etc.) off Ebay then followed a video on youtube, pausing as I went along.
All works beautifully now! As long as you take your time it's not too difficult. A Sunday morning over a cup of coffee job.
We all make mistakes sometimes

They're quite easy as has been said. Like evil says, the ifixit guide is good. I get two sheets of paper, draw a rectangle on each one & place the screws in corresponding areas from the phone.
Be patient and never force anything if it doesn't go in first time.

Easy job, just take your time. 1st thing to do is see if yours has those stupid pentalobe screws by the connector port.
Mine has normal cross head screws, but the last 2 I've fixed have had pentalobe screws and afaik you can only get the tool online.

Looks like mine has those stupid screws . is there a difference with various kits available on eBay ?

Yes , I bought a screen which came with a screw driver. You can buy the drivers on their own from fleabay for £1.99.
TAR seems to be a decent bloke!

Find this including parts - seems really cheap

at that price must be non gen screen (copy) and or used as they cost £33 (in volume) to buy in and would question how sending back as special delivery would cost you £6.00ish to cover value of handset.
drop him msg and ask few questions imo

I don't think he is offering the part and service at that price, I think he must just be selling the part as you can't make money at that price let alone with delivery taken into account. On his site he offers it for £36.50-39 and I think that only includes part, labour and 1 month warranty, doesn't appear to include postage.

Just spoke to him . said there are 2 options for return postage . one of which is first class recorded. So think I will go for it once I get paid on Thursday .will let you know how I get on

sent this last thursday and it arrived today looking like brand new - so cracking result and excellent service
does anybody have any idea how i can unlock it now?
its on vodafone uk at the moment and running software version 6.1.3 and modem firmware 04.12.05
Best going to Voda and pay for the unlock. So out of interest what was the total cost to have the phone repaired and returned inc. your postage to him?
I unlocked one from Vodafone that I recently bought for the Missus. It was £19.99 direct with Voda and it took 3 days to go through. I tried everything to get it unlocked for free (ex contract phone), but as it wasn't my contract I couldn't provide any requested details. That said, if the phone was on your own contract, I would say it is worth getting a PAYG SIM, ringing them and if you can provide the details that I couldn't, then you may well get it unlocked FOC.
You should be able to get a PAYG SIM free online - try the link at the top of this page https://freesim.vodafone.co.uk

That is insanely cheap, I can't work out how it is possible to repair and return for that cost. He must have a hell of a deal on volume third party parts!
Agree with evil, mad cheap.
It's 45 minute job when done carefully.
Perhaps he's found a risk free way of separating the fused digitiser from the LCD whilst in situ. But i can't see how.
