Default Hmmm... it seems Macro bug season started in an unconventional and unwanted manner.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. Put a bunch of kids in the same place (school) and hopefully they'll learn to share things.... just that there are some things you don't want them to share.

My son William was showing the tell tale signs of scratching his head. Coupled with one of the parents from his school telling us that she had found head lice in her kids, we investigated. Lo and behold, we spotted one. A quick trip to the pharmacy to buy the necessary hair medication and comb to get rid of them and we'd combed out (poor kid) 5 of these horrible little cnts. We'll repeat the process every 7 days for the next 3 weeks as advised by the instructions and hopefully that'll be the end of it (provided of course any other kids with them are treated - we've already made the school aware just for their info)

I know people will know this but I'm going to quote it anyway just for my own satisfaction because we're sticklers for maintaining our own and Williams personal hygiene

"A head lice infestation is not the result of dirty hair or poor hygiene.
They are common, particularly in children"

This one is of course dead but you can see it had had a good feed

    Detail is brilliant Ian.
These things are tiny, so great work.

When our kids have had these you start it itching yourself and imagining you've got them!

Nitty Nanny did our school when I was a kid, and some years were worse, dunno why.

    Interesting subjects though, nice...

I'd like to see a picture of the lens! How the hell do you do that? Proper adapter or gaffer tape?

    Thanks to MsDG

Hehe, thanks all. I agree you do start scratching yourself. Louise and I have dry combed our hair through just to check. Luckily we didn't have a single passenger.

MsDG, I actually held the 50mm lens in front of my 100 and hand held these shots (going to buy an adapter I think). Took a good 6 or 7 shots to get one as in focus as this one is. DoF was down to about 0.5mm. Here's a pic of the camera with the Ext. Tubes, 100mm and 50mm reversed. Used a pound coin to balance it . I took the flash and diffuser off as was in the way.
