I'd say a VU Duo is good for the money especially the clones.

Failing that a solo 2 would be my choice of any box. I am only going on what I have read as I own a clone duo.

on the loss of premium channels..... people panic when tiers expire and use the original box, some even forced a software update, once in the orig box the card is then going to take all manner of emm's that would normally be blocked. a bit of common sense would of saved their premium channels for now.

True m8, if u use a dm 500 as a server the card updates fine. No need to put it into the original box.

Hi - brother in law mentioned these boxes earlier to me today, essentially he explained that you can get a sat box that receives a lot of channels.

So after a vague google and eBay search sellers have boxes 'ready to go' as such but they aren't all that cheap can somebody pm me details of a box or reseller they trust - ready to go would suit me enormously but if it that not the norm I'd appreciate links to either the fw or image that's needed...

right guys im very busy today famy bbq bank holiday etc, i will tonight search for the guides etc, also i wood advise buying a box and setting it up urself, if u want to use the internet go into network settings and make ethernet active, ur box shood reboot after, i woodnt advise using the boxes for wifi

also do some googling first, ie skybox f5 set up, skybox f5 channel list, skybox f5 enter nline, as i said v busy today have a search i shood be back on tonight please post how far u got, as for finding a supplier of services this can be googled to as there are a few places forums that i shal not name here that sellers sell services if u catch my drift

Morning all, Ok quick question... Im not bothered about the premium content like movies, sports etc. currently got Sly+ with entertainment extra. 2 most viewed channels are Disney Junior and Watch. Not bothered about HD channels either just the HDMI connectivity.
Want to be able to record and as long as the EPG isnt utter crap and displays the right content for the right time etc I'm happy... with that in mind, what options have I got for boxes?

Im a total noob to the sly box stuff, got a couple of old Dbox 2's in the loft from back in the day with cable etc.

Also is there anyway of remote controlling the new boxes via mobile device to remote record / play recorded content?

to be honest i dont rhink the skybox would be for you, it can record to usb but the epg isnt that great, i cant comment on other boxes as dont own any other sorry
