I changed over to pairing my card via the Thompson serial, used 4E3004 & HD/premium worked immediately with my new boxkey in my cfg.

Entitlements went to 31/7.

Lets hope it last for years!

bit late now but anyone else thinking of updating their card via the original box Don't
if your having trouble and the tiers expire they will still update without the use of the sky box.. double check all your settings and leave it and be patient
it can take a day or two to get an emm don't panic just wait.

Unfortunately an impatient wife caused me to use the Sky box to update but had left a good 5 days without received in my DM. Haven't sold my DM800s just yet, but don't think I'll hold on much longer.

I hope leaving it works. I don't want to go back to using my $ky box. My DM800 has so many customizations on it and it took me long enough to get it setup with the software I want lol.

I would be surprised. They would have to give away lots of new boxes to people that are on basic packages that have no interest in upgrading. I still know a lot of people that have Sky boxes that aren't even Sky+!!

...and $ky don't give anything for free

Yes they are forcing you to update if you have an old Thomson box mighten be for a couple of months but it will happen.

They have been upgrading thompson users for free. It will take them a while to cover everyone. Once they have they will do a final switch but it wont be for a while.

With any luck by then there will be an exploit ... I have heard already that if you wire an 8v battery to the card slot it will update your entitlements to 2015 !!! ;-)

my tiers were due to expire on the 21st of this month, i set Oscam to update only unique emm's and left it for 2 days, bear in mind this is 3 weeks before its due to expire...
it updated with 2 emm's after a couple of days and now is valid till mid aug. that would be the usual approach.
i think if you do that using that method it will be fine for now. if it does happen to expire the same method will still update the card just leave it on sky sports and wait. if it still fails then your configs need looking at.
