OK thanks. It seems like just some more speculation to me. The current card has enough functionality to prevent CS. No new card needed!

USUAL SCAREMONGERING, saying the boxes are a death trap and destined to blow up - made me laugh

To be fair.... It's fairly true. I have one.
The PSU was the weak point and the caps did explode sometimes. They have just embellished it a fair amount. Your box, quite obviously, will not blow up. But the pop of the cap, might be off putting to some.
I was replacing the caps, until I got bored. It's still in pieces in my garage.

Weren't the Thomson's also the last Sky boxes that let you get HD through component video?
The father in law still has an old Plasma that can only take a picture input via component and he won't be happy if he loses that!
Just got the sky fitted. Bit daunting goung from an f5 to a normal box. Anyways just off now to fit the f5 in the bedroom
I think if it was that price for everyone there would be no C/S
Agreed.
I don't see why Sky are not flexible enough to existing customers of less than 12 months.
Example, I leave Sky as it was too expensive and my 12 month offer had ended. Sky don't budge and don't offer me any deals at the end of my contract. So I cancelled the service in full.
Now, my account stays on their system which means I can't re sign up with a new promotion for the next 12 months. I can of course swap the application name, to another, but without wanting to manipulate the system, why wouldn't they honour the new deal, It's essentially money they'd get from me, that they wouldn't get before. Seems a no brainer.
if £25 is for everything then yes it would be ok and id rather go genuine at £25 and get everything imho, but sky are greedy with their pricing, they are selfish when it comes to their loyal customers and I for one am glad this has been hitting them in the pocket for the last few years.
£120 per month is simply ridiculous even for those with plenty of money its too much and they have a monopoly which is why they know they can charge that amount. but with this cs and everything it seems to be pushing them to offer more and more deals which is a good thing.
what pisses me off about companies like sky is that they give existing LOYAL customers shitty deals and treat NEW customers much better. take the car insurance swindle for example. you could have been with an insurer for 3/4 years and never claimed a penny, but your insurance just sky rockets. our recent quote from our current insurer for a 1.8tdi ford was touching £900, considering that we have 11 yrs no claims too. yet when I go on the comparison sites such as compare the market the SAME insurer can quote us sub £500??? what the fuck is going on there. its become the norm these days for people to just keep shopping around, what happened to customer loyalty, do they have so much money to throw away that they can keep losing customers that way?. years ago a company would fight to keep their customers.
I sincerely hope that this cs puts a big dent in skys finances as long as no staff lose their jobs over it. what I would like to see is one flat fee for everyone for everything, this way not one person would want to go down the cs route

I think they need to look at the business model as a whole and pretty much accept that people in the main only subscribe for the sports. I'd have it back at 25 a month for just the sport channels, but you have to pay for the basic channels then sports on top of that then they have the cheek to charge for HD content. So your looking at 50quid a month for what is essentially 6 to 8 channels plus a load of crap most people don't really have much interest in.

£25 is a good price agreed, but I do not feel I even watch £25 of TV.
Looking at CS, for every person who views by their own means, how many of them would actually be a genuine customer if CS did not exist? On top of that how many of the people who would go 'Legitimate' would chose $ky and how many would go with an alternative like Vermin? Yes Vermin still have to pay $ky for certain services so I guess they do stand to lose more but still..
If you opened a sweet shop and made everything free for a week, not everyone of those customers would come back when you started to charge - It is fact. Some people only take it because it is available.
Personally I watch 2 or 3 channels for the footy, if I had to pay $ky direct then I would rather goto the Pub and watch the games with a beer. It would work out cheaper than a subscription.
So even if I got offered the £25 a month deal, it is still costing £625 for something that could alternatively only cost me £120 for the same period.. I am not going to use it more and I am not going to use any of the other features and the additional features are not worth the extra £505

For years i had no interest in sky well not at there prices. I got an f5 and thought this aint gonna last forever and the deal.came up so had to take it at that price. Ok i can download all the films i want but to be honest now its just easier for the kids with the new skybox. Anyways it wont gwt watched in the winter the kids will be outside playing but for now £25 is worth the money. But if i lose my job it will be the first thing to go
Yeh £25 a month us to much if you ask me for the shit they produce and I would recommend anyone to CS and rip the fuck out of Sky and get as much as you can from the twats.
if your wondering why I posted the above is because something that's going on in work and I don't think I'll be working for these twats in 6 months time.
Staff cuts due to CS ? Also nice Auto Correct

Nope m8 it's just I don't like the working practices and the twat of a manager I'm working under, CS is a small percentage of sky's subscriptions.
Surely the working practices have to be company driven.. If he/she is implementing their own then it is a HR case..

Hey Realist does that mean you're gonna nick a load of £25 offers from them ? Lol
