Help Updating my Nav N Go iGo 8??

Hi all, it has been ages since I was involved with GPS updating etc. so have forgotten most of it.

I have an all singing all dancing chinese headunit in my car with built in GPS. It uses Nav N Go iGo 8, I am looking to update the maps and add speed camera warnings.

Am I best updating the GPS app or leave that 'as is'? Which maps do I need to get and where do I put them on the SD card? Where do I get the speed camera files from?

    Cheers!

P.S. Usually I would research more myself but going away first thing tomorrow!

I will be researching some more myself but if anyone can get me up to speed on this it would be appreciated, new maps and speed camera warnings would be great and if I need to I could try to replace the GPS app.

I have heard of something called Miopocket (not necessarily GPS) but I don't think it runs well on my hardware, it replaces all of the menu interface. If there is a way to custom skin my device that would be good as it has a generic Chinese ugly interface atm.

Turns out I can install iGO Primo i3 or possibly v2. I am getting i3 now but will still need maps/speedcams. Does anyone know the compatibility so I know which maps and POIs I can use?

    Cheers

Any reason why you wouldn't give TomTom a go? I know it's not everyones cup of tea, but its the most frequently updated and supported.

Well from my 'GPS days' I remembered igo was my preference over tomtom, igo was per-installed and when I had to look for pointers elsewhere the forum I found recommended primo. No reason why I can't have multiple program's on one SD though so now I am back into the swing of things I might try tomtom too.

I used Export2iGO 3.2 to convert 24/10/2012 UK OV2 files to the Speedcams.txt file. I will have to test to see if it works now.
