win 8 and dos issue

I have a friend who’s just bought a new Win 8 Dell.

He has a DOS based accounts package which he has used for years and wants to keep doing so.

Can he install this on his new Win 8 machine and if so, how ?

As well as DJ OD's suggestion you should be able to create a vm using windows virtual pc.
