Push Bullet - has a windows client so all notifications on the phone come through to your PC. You can reply to texts from the PC which is handy and even push files to and from pc/phone.

I don't understand what this is used for?

It pushes your phone notifications to your pc. You need the app on your phone and the app on your pc.

I used to use a similar app, typing on a proper keyboard is a massive improvement over a little shitty touch screen. SMS is mostly dead here though, everyone uses chat clients now, which thankfully most have desktop versions.

What games should go on this list?

Tell you what game I'm addicted to, other than Hero Siege, (which I guess everyone knows about!?) it called 'Nimble Quest'- it's sort of a posh, pretty, updated version of the original Nokia Snake game, with a little bit of tower defence mixed in. It's free too. (although it does try to get you to buy 'upgrade tokens' or something- not intrusive though- also, not needed at all)

I was getting a bit pissed off with the keyboard on my z1 compact being too small and fiddly compared to my old iphone. Tried a number of other keyboards and Google keyboard is fantastic.

yes, but i don't use swipe. The keys are bigger than the standard Sony keyboard and autocorrect seems more intelligent too.
