    Default Camelot theme park (urbex)

The park opened in 1983 and has been operating seasonally since then. The park is based on the story of 'Camelot, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table'.

The closure of the park was announced by its operator, Knights Leisure, in November 2012, the managing director blaming poor summer weather and events such as London 2012 and the Queen's Jubilee for declining visitor numbers.

I don't understand why nobody buys it and makes it viable again, surely with the right new rides it would attract the visitors.
Only in Britain….do we use the word “politics” to describe the process of Government. “Poli” in Latin meaning “many” and “tics” meaning “bloodsucking
    creatures”

hard to compete with the larger parks i would imagine, great pics
You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.

Incredible how quickly the place becomes rusty etc...

I agree about the marketing, back home in the Norf East Flamingo Land is a right shit hole with crap rides, yet they are booming due to advertising on Saturday Night Takeaway etc...

    Fkin Flamingo Land...

I remember one in Derby called American Adventure.

I did the 200ft Skycoaster with a hangover and felt weird for hours afterwards.

Something creepy about abandoned theme parks tho

The better one in the North East (well was back in the day) is Lightwater Valley. They used to have Europes longest/highest rollercoaster etc... Spent many summer days there.

Loads of my old childhood haunts have closed now, including this place. I wonder if kids just arnt interested in them anymore, or parents think its just too expensive. I remember my parents were always moaning about the prices even back in the day.
