Info Simple video editing software recommendations please!

Got a video of my wedding and theres a large chunk with the host babbling on in Chinese, which I wanna chop out to make it more digestible for the rest of my family.

The video is 720p .mp4, if that makes a difference, although I can easily convert it and resize it, I have no idea on chopping it up.

At a later date I would like to attempt to subtitle it, but for now I just wanna crop it quickly, as its almost 10 months since i tied the knot and I still aint sent photos or vids out....

I've used a really simple one called freemake. It's primarily a video converter but it is simple to cut sections out. When you open your video in freemake there's an option to edit, when you're in that your video is open in a video player with buttons underneath including play pause move by frame and most importantly for you two scissors for the beginning and end of each cut. Select the beginning marker and the end marker and cut - easy. Continue until you've cut all of the parts out and then convert, I guess you would convert to the original file format to just edit out the parts you don't want.

A quick and dirty method would be to upload to youtube and use their built in editor. I upload hundreds of videos of the kids for the sake of the grandparents in Blighty and often use the feature.

Get Freemake as Beans says mate. It's so easy to use, doesn't faff about and it's free. I've stopped using anything else.

    Thanks to Zoots

Check that you don't have some kind of software already on your PC. You can get Windows video software for free from there website. I used that to add in titles, pictures, videos and a little bit of transition in between. Then I used freemake to convert into a decent format. Both easy to use, but freemake is extremely easy to use. Especially if you only want to trim up, the video.
