Default Moving from iPhone to Android

    Guys,

I'm thinking about making a switch from my iPhone 5 to the HTC One.

I wanted some advice on steps that need to be taken to transfer everything from my iPhone to Android (I have been using iPhone exclusively since the 2G model).

I would like to transfer pretty much everything: SMS messages, photos, videos, contacts, notes, calendar. Music is the only exception as I only use Spotify.

Is there a single program that could facilitate all this, Ive been looking into Kies but not sure if it only works on Samsung and its reliability

I moved from an iPhone to the old HTC One and it works fine. Although I also suggest just jumping in clean and starting a fresh. It's actually quite liberating! I've really enjoyed moving over to Android there's loads of stuff you can do, look at things like nova launcher it allows you to customise the look and feel of the phone without any fancy jailbreaking malarkey.

Don't install Kies on your PC if you have a Samsung phone. Awful piece of software. You may as well have that other awful piece of software installed, itunes.

There are ways of moving it all over. But I'd rather start afresh. Setup your gmail account. Go to contacts on your desktop or laptop and type away. Then sync with your phone. You only have to do it once. I did it 4 years ago, when I bought my first android phone.

Sorry to jump on your thread... I am contemplating getting the HTC ONE as im fed up with tweeting/ texting on my iphone 4s. I got fat thumbs and it just does my head in. Had a HTC Desire Z a while ago and loved it. Due to the lack of any decent qwerty phones being out and BB being crap for apps I saw the HTC One as a very good alternative.

How are you finding it in comparison?
    Meh....

Im still awaiting the phone, I actually ordered the HTC one from Hong Kong as it has dual sim capacity and expandable memory slot (the main reason I wanted it).

Do you know if you can switch between Sims without switching off ?

Can you have both Sims connected at the same time ?

Yes both sims run in parallel at the same time! A lot of android phones have dual sim versions that are sold only in Asian markets due to the demand for them

Yes, as Peonix says you can. However only one of the SIMs can be set up for data, though I don't know why you would want to run both for data.
