They should be investing in carrier bags that open easily! I am guilty of spending far too long fiddling with my fingers on the bloody things trying to get them to open...

If supermarkets stopped employing dandruff ridden mongs who don't have the sense not to ask you if you need help with you packing when you only have one item anyway would fucking help.
Certainly in many of the bigger stores I go into, the checkout staff do ask if you want help packing..
I don't know who will help as there never seems to be anyone around, but also they know a bloke will ever say yes!
I hate it when the checkout staff start putting things into bags whilst I am fumbling, it's sign I have been defeated!
Oh, then there are the times I am on my mobile

Pretty sure when one of the lower ones started up, Aldi or something they didn't have scanners and the staff had to memorise product numbers instead, got paid well for it too!
That is correct. I worked in Spar when I was at college. They opened an Aldi next door and the checkout staff pretty much all left to work there.
They had to go on trial and show they could memorise the prices etc.. Must have been a complete nightmare! As well as getting fleeced by some staff.

How the fuck did this thread last 2 pages ???? ;-)
the old tescos near me used to have the barcode scanners, they stopped using them because too much was going missing
easiest way would be rfid on the items, pack them then push trolley through a scanner and pay.
Will never happen. They would have to put them inside the packaging to avoid tampering. Items would get missed, fraud etc etc.. Would be nice, will never happen

They need queues to sell chewing gum and overpriced batteries.
Fuck home delivery...They piss in the vans
Buhahaha!
I'm not a fan of that either. I tried it out a few times when it was all new, and they kept fucking up stuff or getting the wrong things, not substituting things properly (IE Not White Andrex, so didn't get any loo roll at all... etc) Only time it is of use to me is when you need stocking up on beers, bottles and cans. I wouldn't trust the fuckers to find a nice looking piece of meat, decent fruit and veg or check the dates properly..

Been using delivery a couple of years now and love it. No messing about with the great unwashed and standing in queues.
Service has been good too, tried a few but settled on ocado. Good quality stuff and service, and a price match to tescos so you get Waitrose food etc and money back if its more expensive.
Ocada I believe have signed a deal with Morrisons so will be offering that stuff soon if not already as well as Waitrose.
