I've noticed some of the sources can be quite bad these days. I seem to do well with billionuploads.

I've had lappys work again after water damage, but its very hit and miss. If you tried to switch it on, then its less likely. I'd leave it a few days in a dry warm area, then try again... Positive sign though if you get charging light on... maybe try it without the battery in, but plugged into the mains?

Two I would recommend are Comodo Dragon (with privdog extension) and SRWare Iron.
Both based of Chromium with all the Google reporting removed.

I've used http://sourceforge.net/projects/eraser/ in the past, seems OK. But never done extensive testing...

I wouldn't be surprised if the HD 5450 has issues of different resolutions at the same time through different port types. I have seen this strange behavior with ATI cards in the past...
Also though, some HP monitors need a monitor driver to make all the video modes available to the system...
I like your way of dealing with the issue though, bin it and buy new.

I'm still using a PC gaming rig that's a few years old, only cost about £700, can still run anything I chuck at it even now, I've upgraded a few things like larger SSD drive and 24GB ram, but its still essentially the same mainboard and CPU... one downside of a console, you cant do what you want to do on it. Want a different OS, refuse to upgrade to patch x.x.x to play game y...
Consoles have their place, but for me they just don't play the sort of games I like. And that's the main point, buy whichever has the games you enjoy playing... for me its games like Civ, X3 and dare I say it... minecraft.
Hope your enjoying your PS4

Do! Run Run.... (on MAME)
Great little game, I spent hours on this in the arcades, cost me a dame fortune, thanks to MAME all free now!
wiki details....
Do! Run Run (1984, also known as Super Pierrot in Japan) is the 4th and final incarnation of Mr. Do!, the Universalvideo game mascot. Returning to his Mr. Do! roots, the clown has a bouncing powerball with which to hurl at monsters. What makes this game novel is that instead of burrowing through the ground to get at cherries, Mr. Do runs along the playfield picking up dots, and leaving a line behind him, which the player is encouraged to create closed off sections with, which turn any dots left behind into cherries. Gone are the giant apples to crush foes, but the multi-tier stage design has two precariously balanced log traps, which roll downslope if either pushed from above or closely approached from the propped up stick side. The resulting game is somewhat of a cross between Mr. Do!, Congo Bongo, Pac-Man, and Qix. The title is a reference to the song Da Doo Ron Ron.
Well posting a quick hello as ordered by DejaVu... sure I posted here many times 8 years ago, sure you guys didn't wipe the database or reset stats or something.
Anyways back to me.
Based in England (at the moment), IT geek and general nice guy... I am the wrong side of 40, still act 20 and have gaming reactions somewhere in the middle.
Many might remember me from the Cable Modem scene on a few other old skool forums. If you do, then your a dam old geezer like myself.
Anyways, live long and prosper! ttfn.

Don't know if you tried this, but its known the newer firmware on the Cisco 79xx phones is buggy and sometimes refuses to accept incomming calls, maybe incompatible with certain networking hardware, i dunno.
But the known fix is to revert the firmware back to 8.0.2 or previous and then the incomming call issue seems to disapear...
Maybe this might fix your problem.
