Cars Interest in / own a British Cars

Just wondering how many people own a British car or have an interest in british cars.

I am fairly patriotic and fancy buying an classic mini just as a bit of a project and because its a British car. I have never owned a British car before and think thats fairly sad considering how many cars Britain used to be produced here. I know there are less and less British companies producing cars now but I fancy owning 1 whilst they are still around.

An old mini is very expensive considering the age and how much they cost to start with. Great cars though and easy to work on.

Probably rare because the engines from an MG or even better an MG Metro Turbo dropped straight into a mini ( with a bit of bulk head trimming and a maxi gearbox) we had a fair few back in the day for the lumps ! Fast as stink for a mini and at 6'4" it was a squeeze to get in but well worth it for the buzz while they were running

If you like British cars then I'd consider hiring a Morgan for the day. I had one last year for a day and it was the best day of the year. It was only £150ish for the day with unlimited mileage, just had to pay the petrol. Car was a 2.0ltr with about 140bhp which was plenty. The car popped and banged it's way around Wales all day long. We did over 200miles on some cracking roads with the top down.

Try an MGB/MGB GT/Midget/Sprite for size, plenty of spares available, new and used.Plenty of garages that cater for the marque too,I work part time 'spannering' for one in the North West. That's me on the right at the Nurburgring in May

What is your classification of a British car? Something that is built here, or something that is/was owned by a British company?

    WHats the budget?

Not sure if anything like Marcos might be feasible, or E-Type?

Morgans, mentioned above are wonderful cars as well.

I have had the fortune of having family members with all those cars. My best was the e-type, but it was the most costly. The Morgan look wonderful. The Marcos, still in the family, if incredible and the cheapest to keep on the road.

I am not sure, where you stand on an old English TVR, if you get the right engine you wont be sitting on the edge of the road all the time. I'd personally love a T350.
