Default Best way of approaching HyperSpin?

    Hi guys,

Looking to put together a MAME cab and considering the various options.

HyperSpin looks fantastic but there is mass amounts of info regarding the best way to set it up and getting it working properly with the covers/trailers etc.

Has anyone put a build together before either in a cab or experimented with HyperSpin?

    Cheers.

Yeah does not seem to have been a thread for a while and i'm sure things are being updated constantly.

I have read about HyperSync and Emumovies via FTP for keeping things up to date - Have you tried any of that?

What were you running HyperSpin from when you made your cab?

    Cheers.

I would love to say a Raspberry Pi as I have one collecting dust!

I want to make one but do not want to spend a fortune on the brains.

    Loving these forums!!!!!
    Would http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1410262634...84.m1423.l2661 be overkill?
I'll be using it as a home media centre also so needs to be able to do 1080p, maybe add a blu-ray player and whatever else comes along in next 3-5 years.

I made a cab a few years ago. Sold it as just didnt use it. Spent more time building it than playing...

PM me if you want a contact for a cabinet shell (custom made for home mame cabs) - This is what I did and stuck a screen and PC in it.

I used Hyperspin which is very good but a bit graphic heavy and spent most of my hours configuring this. Obivously MAME had the fewest issues running anything. Dreamcast and other consoles apart from NES / SNES / Megadrive were not that great, especially in a cabinet with, say a 6 button configuration and joystick.

There is a download online somewhere that has the full hyperspin. Very large download but saves alot of time tinkering with hyperspin.

I used a 19" LCD Monitor and found it pretty good.

Plus half decent spec PC - decent graphics card (if not using just MAME, decent ram and processor plus large hard drive). You can use a low end PC with MAME but like with anything PC related get as much power as possible within budget. Last thing you want is for the PC to struggle booting / loading etc...

If you need any help just drop me a PM

I would sya yes to been overkill just for Mame, but for a Home Media Centre then that would be fine, although folks on here tend to prefer the Acer Revo machines.
Personally I use a mac Mini

You know he grew up as a little shitspark from the old shitflint and then he turned into a shitbonfire and driven by the winds of his monumental ignorance he turned into a raging shitfirestorm. If I get to be married to Barb I'll have total control of Sunnyvale and then I can unleash the shitnami tidal wave that will engulf Ricky and extinguish his shitflames forever. And with any luck he'll drown in the undershit of that wave. Shitwaves.
