I have recently acquired a MacBook Air 2011 model. The problem is that the battery is in service mode and needs replacing (I have tried the usual resets to try and remedy this with no joy). There is no AppleCare left on the device.
Apples website states that a MacBook Air should be able to live through 1000 power cycles. Mine has done about 450.
I am booked in to see a Genius this afternoon for a replacement. Do you think they will charge me for a new battery (Which I'm expecting), or do you think they may replace for free considering it hasn't even managed 50% of its supposed performance ?
i also heard somewhere else that Apple were told that they must conform to European regulations and warranty products for a minimum of 2 years. Is this true ?
