    Rant Cadbury's tastes different

I know I know.. you're thinking 'GTI, you live in the land of the most exquisite chocolate, why would you sully your taste buds with our cheap British muck'

Well my friends, nostalgia is a powerful emotion. Nothing takes me back to my school days like a bar of Dairy Milk and a cup of milky English tea. And I can tell you that something serious has changed with the winning Cadbury's formula. That velvety smoothness is gone, replaced by a bland, Euro chocolatey taste. I have just received a shipment of Dairy Milk and Wispa and neither tastes like I remember them.

Even the bitches on mumsnet agree with me that there is something not quite right with Cadbury's these days.

Not happy, this is our heritage

Sure it will be a ban on some E-number or something that they have had to remove :-(
I think its UK Skittle you are not allowed to import into America due to 1 of the E-numbers being a controlled substance in USA.

I tried some cacao nibs the other day. Raw Chocolate isn't as nice as it sounds.

I would have thought it would have been the other way around!

Mountain Dew for example has to be classed as an Energy Drink in the UK because of the high count of certain ingredients.

Wispas have been shite for a while. I don't eat regular cadburys bars, but the multipack ones i've had from the supermarket have been okay.

Dairy Milk with Oreo's is my latest chocolate fix.

I've also had Milka with Oreo's...

    Epic shit.

I rarely buy chocolate, maybe once in 3 months or something, but if I do it has to be Lindt or Green and Black.

Cadbury's dairy milk chocolate is tankered in from France as crumb, and has been for a while. It all happened when the manufacturing plant at Bournville would have cost too much to bring up to health standards after an audit. The delicious silky taste was probably listeria :-)

As for Wispa, the foam is normally a blend and the shell is a CDM, unless they don't have enough of the blended, then they are all CDM.

One of the guys on the Wispa line I spoke to made a joke about Cadbury's Cheese Eggs when Kraft were buying them, because of Philly. He wasn't far wrong, when they brought out Chocolate Philly.

    2 Thanks given to coin-op

It seems like the culprit is more vegetable fat, less cocoa butter/mass.... meaning greater profits for the greedy yanks
