Default Problem with Domain being marked as Spam

    Hi All

I have a client which is having a complicated problem as I am unsure about web hosting and the email configuration side of things. Hope someone can help.

    AntoXXXXXX@XXXX.com

I have a client who recently had there website hacked it the domain was used to send out spam emails. Its been over 6 months now since everything has been rectified but the website is still being marked as Spam on Mx-toolbox.

This is what shows up on mxtoolbox and you have to query the domain a few times to get this one to appear

LISTED SPAMCANNIBAL Return codes were: 127.0.0.2 Detail Blacklisted by SPAMCANNIBAL 28002 125 Ignore

Users are having problems sending outgoing emails to certain domains

This is what shows up on the spam canibal website when I lookup the IP

    Click for WhoisIP: 213.199.XXX.XXX GB
    United Kingdom

no reverse DNS, MX host should have rDNS - RFC1912 2.1

Any ideas if this is even related to the fault. User is on office365

Honestly, not sure. Could you not just change the IP address of the server (?) that way it would be a fresh start

    Read this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_DNS_lookup

Then start reading some of these results https://www.google.co.uk/search?site...93.FEGOfbMsohA

Then use sites like from this lot from google to determine which blacklists you are on. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=dn...04.LYAGKRewKRI

    Thanks to Over Carl

Okay it seems like the IP
213.199.154.87 being blacklisted is the office365 one. Its being flagged by a few names on http://dnsblcheck.co.uk/lookup.php.

Sorry not sure where would Rdns be configured. Currently godaddy has NS records pointing to the website hosting company. Should I contact them to add in a specific record?

If you had read the links I provided you would now know that you need to get a PTR record setup with a matching SMTP greeting on the server.
