Tops on Portland Street. £15 per head last time I went in. Easy location, pay as you go in and pay for drinks at the bar or via table service. The rest is take a plate and fill up.
Sushi, Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Moroccan, with a great sweet selection.
Much better than it's only rival in manchester, Red Hot World Buffet.
Give me a bell when you're going in and I'll grab a plate with you

Couple I met in holiday were racing about Red Hot World near Derby and recommended it. Why do you not like it?
It's not I don't like it, it's just Tops is better.
Tops had a better selection of food, and I found the indian and chinese dishes to be tastier, and from my visits Tops is a lot fresher.
Obviously only speaking about Manchester..
Thanks for that. Manc is my nearest so will give them both a go in the coming weeks.
There are numerous all you can eat buffet style places in Manchester, not all that good to be honest, mostly chinese.
Bem Brazil is fantastic though in my opinion. Meats are always well cooked and with a decent variety. The one on Deansgate is the best of the chain though.
Does it have to have to be an all you can eat style place? If you're into steak then there is Gaucho's Grill (http://www.gauchorestaurants.co.uk/r...?id=manchester) and say Grill On The Alley (http://blackhouse.uk.com/restaurant/manchester-alley/), or for a burger style place, there is SOLITA (http://www.solita.co.uk).
Went to Bem Brazil 2 week's ago and ate more beef than ever before. Really good. Don't touch salad bar just meat! Pork is very salty. Chicken has bones. Chicken hearts were ok bit chewy. Chilli n garlic beef were good. The best is the Brazilian rump or whatever it's called. We went to the 1 in the northern quarter not to far from dry bar.

Almost Famous is supposed to be a good burger place there - never tried it but heard good reviews so may be worth checking that out too?

Almost Famous used to make fantastic, dirty burgers. Unfortunately it burnt down the other month.

Another shout is Southern 11 in Spinningfields.
They do a all you can eat chicken wings & ribs BBQ style for £11.95 during the day.
Also doa fucking fantastic meat platter.
But if you're looking at something like Almost Famous, try Byron Burger.
Gaucho is a good shout, as is grill on the alley but can be a tad expensive.

Think it was tops buffet we used back in the day - nothing special but not shit.

Thnk you for all your replies Deansgate Bem brasil looks like the one will try and next time will give some of the other good suggestions a go
We went to bem brasil in ancoats (or the northern quarter if you're pretentious) and it was dreadful. Chewy, grissley beef. Pork with tons of fat on it... the only good thing was the gammon. Would never go back. Southern 11 is nice though.
Ive not been to Manchester for ages. Its no all you can eat. Its not Librarian style, but this place used to do the best Kebab I have ever had in my life. When my sister came down from Manchester to see em in Bath, I asked her to get one, good cold as well.
Freshly done Naan and the kebab meat is indian spiced. Both with Yogurt and Chilli, this was incredible. It was some 15 years back, but it is still there. If your out that way, check it out!

I want to get back, and will most definitely be taking some of those suggestions above with me!

Yep! Kebab, great, Indian food, poor. For Indian food, you need to get to Lahore on Commercial Road in London. Sri Lankan curries, East Ham. Just googled Lahore, menuelover is down!, it not Lahore One or Lahore Kebab House. It si a small sh*tty looking place, on commercial road, opposite McD's
Best Argentinian I have every had the pleasure of eating is http://www.alacruz.com/alcindex.php?page=about
Its all food, but I have moved away from Manchester, and this good man is of there.
Love talking food. Going to see if we can book a train up to Manchester before the end of this year!
Q
I'm off to Manchester for Warehouse Project next weekend so might check one of these places out!
