Anyone ever done this? My TV is already mounted and will be approx 1 foot above the top of the Mantle. I'm worried the heat will fuck up the TV.

I had a log burner and the wall above was to hot to touch when it was going full pelt, shouldn't think that will be good for a tv?

When I was born, I was given a choice - A big dick or a good memory. I don't remember, what I chose
Wouldn't it be too high to watch? I fucking hate when people put tv's over fireplaces etc hurts my neck watching them for any decent amount of time

From what I heard about the heat plasmas generate, maybe the fires not needed? Only saying LOL

Prezzy, shame mate I was going to invite you over
Its at a level the family like, no neck ache.
Good point, the heat from the TV will probably be as warm as a fire
Re-situated the TV to eye level and bricked up the fireplace. What was I thinking when I posed this question!
If you will be using the fireplace then the inside of the tv will get full of dust and other particulates that comes off the fire and it will halve the life of the tv
