I love HDR's, they bring seemingly boring shots to life ,and here is a view I took in Italy.
I visited the Amphitheatre in Santa Maria Capua Vetere. A little unknown historic landmark, very few tourists know about, so much in fact we were the ONLY ones walking around this once great Amphitheatre.
Absolutely mindblowing. It blows the Colleseum at Rome right out the water! Cant believe I sat on the very ground Gladiators and possibly Spartacus, shed his blood. Very surreal moment.
These next 2 pictures show the underground chambers where the Gladiators waited before they fought, they also used to keep animals here, and it is literally a maze of tunnels and walkways.
This one is taken in Pompeii, the city destroyed by Vesuvius. The picture shows a reconstructed home/villa.
This next one is from Pasteum. A series of Greek temples, located south of Salerno, in remarkably preserved conditions.
These next 4 are of the Colosseum in Rome itself. I took B&W and colour HDR's as I am still undecided on which is best, thoughts?
and another view....
