Xbox One Day One Forza Motorsport 5 Edition pre-orders sell out

Dear me, things are certainly ramping up now. After the Xbox One's launch date was officially unveiled yesterday, additional Day One pre-order bundles were allocated to a select few retailers, along with a new free game, Forza Motorsport 5. If you were lucky enough to secure your pre-order, congrats - because it turns out every retailer is now completely sold out of the SKU, and there's no word on whether they'll get any more in, or whether other retailers will get their own bundles to sell.



Videogamer reports that GAME has claimed the Forza 5 bundle sold out "in less than two hours." There's also been a bit of confusion over whether customers who placed a preorder on a FIFA 14 Day One bundle would switch to a Forza 5 Motorsport version. I contacted GAME this morning about mine, and was told that I could put in a request to swap, but they couldn't guarantee it would happen.

You can still pre-order for launch through the Microsoft Store and Currys.

I had pre ordered both fifa and forza separately so either bundle was a bonus for me, fifa pre order has been cancelled.

Pre ordered from Game before either bundle was announced.

Assumed I'd get Fifa when that got revealed.

Forza bundle announced so I've pre ordered that as well.

Should really contact Game and see where I stand.

Its pissed me off that they giving forza 5 now, to get a game was a bonus but ive never played a football game nor do i intend to. I cant cancel my pre order. I phoned where im getting it from they said i might be able to change it, ill find out either today or tomorrow.

Looks like I'm stuck with FIFA if I go through Game, my yocal store only received 4 Forza preorder allocations, Amazon it is then!

Just hope it doesn't arrive on the Saturday!!!

I Pre-ordered mine when neither bundle was announced so I'm hoping when I go back to Game they can swap it over to Forza 5 pre-order.

Good luck with that, I ordered mine thru game before any bundle and my order now says Fifa Bundle so contacted them to change to Forza but all the Forza bundles were snapped up in hours so they cant swap it :-(

I pre-ordered in-store so I'm going to go in and see what is happening, I did ask when I first pre-ordered "if a bundle comes out can I come back and change the order" and they said yes. Here's to hoping.

Totally agree, rather than look after the loyal customers it was used as an enticement to bring in new orders, that said really makes no odds to me as I don't play either game but would have been irritated if the choice had been between Fifa 14 and Battlefield 4 and I couldn't switch.

Same as :-( Never owned a Fifa game as my interest in football game went out the window after Sensible Soccer ;-)

Game said on their Facebook page the Forza bundle is a physical copy of the game and not the digital version

I went to Tesco the weekend to see if I could pick up a Day One edition. There were about 10 cases on the shelf to preorder, all of them said standard edition, but I found one behind them all saying Day One Edition. Anyway I took it to the counter and asked the bloke if it's definitely the Day One edition as I want the free game. He didn't seem to know, he scanned it and it came up as Xbox Console. Anyway, on my receipt it just says "Xbox One Console" and release date TBC. Also on the cash receipt it says "Durangoconsole" so i'm guessing this is from before anything about the free games was released from MS.

I've read on a couple of forums but still no one knows about the instore Tesco pre orders. If they are in fact Day One editions, or which game they come with. Anyone know??

Nice find but sticking with my Amazon are order for now don't really trust tesco after they screw me with my Xbox 360 pre order

Tesco used to debit on dispatch, not sure now.

I wouldn't cancel an Amazon order for the sake of a tenner (even though they fucked up royally on 360 launch orders),

I would go for Tesco if I missed all the other Forza pre order opportunities however.
