not received my phone back from repair from ebay seller

little update

after going to the police and reporting it i now have my phone due to come back to me today

he is now saying the phone powers on but the lcd is blank :-(

that means he has swapped the lcd m8

I hate to say it, but it might be a horrible lesson learned.

phone just arrived looks as mint as when i sent it

bottom 3 buttons light up when i turn it on but nothing comes on the screen :-(

its like its powering up and making the boot sound but screen doesnt come on

Was this the initial 'brick' or was it totally dead and now you have signs of life but no display?

Yep partitions were totally corrupted. He mentioned something about a bin file

i managed to find an lcd and digitizer on ebay

but looking on youtube it looks like a bit of a nightmare to change it all

would love to get the phone up and running to see if he actually did fix it in the first place

does anybody know of someone who would change the lcd and digitizer for me ?

Best try mobileman, I haven't worked on your model before and am a bit busy ATM. I know he was busy too but might be able to give you advice on doing it yourself.

Tbh I've not done a one xl but have heard they are a complete pita pretty sure both the LCD and digitizer are bonded together as well as bonded to the chassis, will check with couple of people but pretty sure suppliers sold complete unit for that reason :/

insurance sorted today and they no longer sell the htc one xl so being sent a sony xperia z after paying my 40 pounds excess :-)

anybody else got the z?
