was looking at these fro the kids but then seen these http://www.ebuyer.com/524795-sumvisi...t-pc-cycvoy279 they have an extra gig of ram and a better camera and an extra inch for only 20 quid more if you dont use clubcard points and for those that think 7 inch is too small and long for 10 inch there is this one http://www.ebuyer.com/489484-sumvisi...-pc-cycvoy2101 £176 same spec sure they had these last year but not the same spec and were getting good reviews at the time so i am now not sure which one to go with

also there is this one http://www.ebuyer.com/432600-sumvisi...pc-cycvoy101bt same price as the hudl but 10inch and similar spec 1gb ram dual core 1.5ghz anyone know what ebuyer are like for returns etc

should be a good budget pad, even if its not the absolute best value tech for the cash it should gain a lot of ground with support since it will have such high distribution. One of the good things about the ipad is the accessories are so abundant for the same reasons.

One more advantage over a cheap tablet online is that if you have any issues you can take it back and they'll no doubt just swap it. More faff involved in an online purchase.

I had a quick look in tesco, and I don't think I could live with such basic build. I would prefer a v1 Nexus 7.

Ideal for kids at that price(if they didn't already have 2xkindle fires)..maybe for me as a once in a while toy - name sucks though.

Got myself the 2013 nexus 7 4g coming tomorrow anyhow

After a few delays (due to high demand so the emails said) mine finally got delivered at the weekend. Been away so only just got to play with it today.

I'm comparing this with my current kit to put it into perspective. Nexus 4, Nexus 7(1st gen), Motorola Xoom.

Build quality is good, nice matt (purple) rubber finish on the back, glass front. Its not Apple/HTC standards but it doesn't feel cheap.

Speed seems on par with the Nexus devices, maybe a touch slower but a hell of a lot faster than the Xoom.

Bloatware and Tesco branding is kept to a minimum, Blinkbox, Blinkbox Music, Tesco Groceries, Store locator and a getting started app are installed out of the box.

It does seem like someone actually put some thought into this device instead of sticking a Tesco logo on a cheap Chinese tablet. Time will tell.

If you can get hold of one for £100 or less, which should be possible with all the club card deals Tesco's are rolling out before Crimbo then go for it. These will sell by the bucket load and should have great community support.

    2 Thanks given to MHP
