think i might sell my nexus 7 for one of these , although i vowed never to use Tesco 5 years ago and haven't !
I might have to reconsider or see of anyone drops price of similar product to compete

heard the other day people saying its a loss leader could well be true as its cracking spec for the money

This looks very good value for the money. You can even double up on clubcard vouchers and get the money off.

Can't wait until it's rooted and you can strip the Tesco shit off of it. I'll probably buy one then.

    Probably already is.
It can only really be a clone of something else already available. I can't see Tesco's designing a completely new Tablet. Not really their bag.

    --edit
A little digging and found it's actually made by Archos. Tesco's just designed the look and branded it.
Great price for a great spec though. Has to be said.

    --edit2
I stand corrected. It IS a brand new tablet! Designed by Archos FOR Tescos. Well, perhaps the lads over on XDA-Dev will get to work on it!

Android tablets are ten a penny, there is no value proposition whatsoever in buying one. Without fail almost every single Android tablet in my local electrical store which is >6 months old is on sale. Check this out the Nexus 10 for less than half price, and its only been out since March 2013 FFS.

I just wish android used something similar to airplay like the ipad and apple tv. That's the only reason I have them both. I'm a big user of airplay.

Geezer, I'm currently rocking a Galaxy S4 and have in my bat cave a Galaxy Tab 8.9, Surface RT, iPad 3 and iPad Mini. I don't think you will find anyone as platform agnostic as me, I'm always trying out the latest shit and have almost no loyalty to any brand. And yet I always find myself gravitating to the devices that just work and offer the best user experience.... i.e. iPhone/iPad. You may just about be able to win the Android v iOS smartphone argument, but when it comes to tablets the iPad experience is leagues ahead, and thats to be expected since Android App makers can't keep up with all the fragmentation (firmware, screen resolutions, aspect ratios, CPU, memory availability, SD storage options etc..), its no wonder Samsung have their own curated app store, because they want to shield their users from all the confusion.

Anyway there aren't many people that can speak from daily experience, its usually voice from one camp or the other.

I have a nexus 10 and an iPad 3 my lass uses the iPad and I use the nexus. Personally I think the nexus has better detail but the iPad has better colour. Apart from the size there's nowt between them for me except one of the main apps I use is not available on iPad.
If nature always takes the easiest route, what's easier...?
The creation of billions of galaxies each containing trillions of stars each with their own solar systems, some with planets that have evolved civilisations with billions of different life forms. OR The creation of just your imagination?

Don't personally have a tablet... can't say they interest me but havin never played with one very much (ipad a little) maybe I could be proven wrong..
I just don't see a situation where I couldn't be arsed to walk to the next room and do whatever on the PC and I wouldn't have any interest gaming on something with such a small screen

Because I suppose it is of such low importance to me and I'm sure others .. then that is where the Hudl would win over any more expensive model.. cos to me it isn't justified otherwise.. essentially it's a toy

I think that Android gives you choice of component, manufacturer, support and quality.. which means that you can tailor your requirements to your price point.. With apple, you are locked into apple .. and their price.. I dislike the apple lock in.. I do like the simplicity of their OS.. but I also like the malleable nature of Android... but not the stability issues..

Which ever one you love it will simply be down to personal experiences and perception driving your preference.

I was about to buy a nexus 7.. but this is a great spec for the money.. So i'll be getting one of these now.
