Help From iPhone to Galaxy S4

    Hey dude's and dudettes

So I aint sure if I have done a good thing or a bad thing at the moment.

After the IO7 update in the week , which didnt really float my boat I decided as it was upgrade time to go for the S4 .

Now its an awesome piece of kit , but It doesnt appear as though I can receive Text Messages from my fellow iPhone users.

Although they were coming through on iMessage on my macbook , which I have not disabled the imessage accoutn and signed out.

I am still not receiving texts from iPhone users though .. any ideas ?

You cannot get an Imessage from a mac or iphone to any other product that is not Apple. imessage is an apple only product.
If you love imessage that much i suggest you swap back pronto mate.

    Hi Bobby ,

I think you have missed my question , I cannot receive Text Messages from people with iPhones , I have disabled the iMessage app on my macbook but Text messages from iPhone users do not arrive on the S4 .

I did the same leap to the S3 a while ago., It sounds like they are still trying to iMessage you back rather than text you. Although if the iMessage fails I thought it reverted to send as a text ?

Anyway I think your friends need to make sure they text your mobile number a fresh message rather than just reply to an existing iMessage.

Indeed mate it does seem like they are sending messages to your iphone imessage account. As Basset says get them to type your mobile number and away you go.

Make sure the phone has the correct settings from the network etc mate, but any phone should accept any texts period as long as its from normal text messaging and not imessage etc.
Can you make calls on the phone etc mate?

Ok some movement , my mates iphone in work I fiddled with the settings and there was an option turned off to send SMS messages if imessage wasnt available , turned that on and started getting texts from him, but if thats correct dont see how he would have texted anyone without an iPhone .. ??

Cheers For the responses chaps , been looking all weekend , and it looks like there a 30 Day update period set by Apple before my Phone number expires and text messages can be received by all. It appears to be fine for users with iPhones who have never contacted me on my old phone , but users who I messaged often
are ahving issues .. Ahh Well ...
