    Default CCTV on WHS

Thinking of adding a couple of CCTV cameras to my homeserver. The Homeserver is the N40L, which I currently use to grab my media - sickbeard, CP, SABNZBD, Headphones.... And to stream the media to XBMC and Slim devices. It has 8 gig of ram added.

I only want to add 2 CCTV cameras to the system.

Will it be able to handle it? Any software or camera recomendations? I was looking at Blue Iris software. http://blueirissoftware.com/

The cameras will need to be IP rated as mounted externally. They can be easily cabled. So don't need to be wireless, but will need to be network cameras.

A friend of mine has lots of studio equipment and wanted to secure his house a bit more. He ended up getting some cheapo cameras off ebay that have built in web servers. You can use apps on your phone to view them and if it detects movement it will take a photo and email it to you. They were very easy to setup but they were not a big brand. Think he paid about £50 each for them.

I can rate the Ubiquiti outdoor AirCam.

No IR but I've used one next to a normal security light. Works a treat.

I have had a Foscam FI8921W V2 for about a week (internal). Viewing and controlling it from IE or Chrome on a Windows PC is fantastic, but connected through an Android device, which I would want to do when out and about is another matter. While the picture quality on the official Foscam App is really good, camera control (pan/tilt) is rubbish because it's non-responsive most of the time. If they could sort that, it would be a great set-up.
