Question Mobile phone repair shops - London

    Hey guys,

On my next trip back to the smoke I would like the get the glass on my Galaxy S4 replaced, screen and digitizer are fine its just that bonded sheet of Gorilla glass that has hairline cracks (Gorilla my arse ). Can anyone recommend a meticulous repairer who will do a good clean job and use LOCA adhesive to ensure that the screen doesn't look shit after? There are plenty of cowboy mobile phone shops littering London and I don't want to find out by trial and error.

    Thanks in advance

I heard even if you get someone to do it properly the touch screen itself wont be as good as original. I believe the original replacement costs 150 and you can sell your old one for 30 -35 pounds. I am sure mobileman can confirm the price.

Your spot on there mate, all the replacement glass are copy and not gorilla, old ones as long as LCD is ok sell for that as people then repair and try and pass them off as genuine

Also invalidates your warranty which on an s4 should still have about 15/16 months I'd imagine

Use a trusted genuine parts seller GTI it's 10 screws and if you can hold a small Phillips you can do the job and still keep your warranty

Cheers guys, I'm actually looking to get this repaired and sold off as I'm getting a 5S later in the month, therefore I was hoping to avoid the £150 for the full screen assembly. As I dropped it on its top edge, there are already a few war wounds so it was never going to be advertised on fleabay as Pristine.

The alternative is to sell it 'as is' and if anyone wants to attempt the repair they can

Use this tool to compare it's value working/non-working with recycle sites and compare that to private too. Then you can see if the part cost is justified by the value increase:
    http://mobilevaluer.com/

I see S3 panels have touched under £100 now, still haven't done one as insurance excess is £100 in most cases so cheaper doing it that way. I guess you haven't got insurance?

Just ebay it as it is unless mobile man wants to buy it from you.
