    Advice Phone insurance

Friend has claimed on phone insurance, sent original phone back got new phone. Now they have taken £400 out of her bank account saying phone is not original phone issued. Is this just a case of your word against there's and no why to prove it or can vodaphone trace her phone calls and imei or something to hand set to prove it is original phone. She is not sure what to do or how to prove they are lying. Any help would be appreciated.

If she bought it on contract, the provider will have a note of the IMEI.

    Tell them to get fucked.

Not sure how they could send out a new phone and then decide afterwards that it was the wrong phone? Smells of scam to me?

Also, just a bit of advice, check your house contents insurance.. The phones in our house are covered, ok a £50 excess but when I lost my iPhone last year I had money in my account after a few days... Has not harmed the policy either, the premium is about the same this year with 10 years NCD.
